Thank you to our visitors, sponsors, exhibitors and volunteers for another successful SciTech Spectacular!
SciTech Spectacular, a program of Carnegie Science Center, is an interactive festival of what's cool and cutting-edge in science and technology in this region and beyond.
RECORD BREAKING ATTENDANCE
We achieved our largest school attendance ever. Student registrations exceeded 4,500, which is nearly quadruple last year’s attendance. The 2006 school program featured daily exhibitors plus over 150 workshops, programs and presentations by scientists and high tech industry leaders throughout the region.
SEGWAYS AND DIET POP/MENTOS HIGHLIGHTED THE FUN
This year’s public programming highlights included Segway rides for visitors, the Eepybird.com Soda Fountains and 25-30 daily exhibitors showing off the latest and greatest in science and technology. Visitors also enjoyed games, prizes and entertainment from the Ambridge Area High School Steel Band.
NEW TECHNOLOGY FROM OUR EXHIBITORS
Students and weekend visitors experienced the U.S. debut of Bayer Corporation’s Senso car – which runs on CO2-reducing natural gas, senses the driver’s emotions and adjusts internal sight, sound, and scent features accordingly. Visitors also explored the Jam-O-Drum, a multi-user interactive music and gaming system by CMU.
